Primary School

Welcome to Brighthouse Academy Primary School

Our Primary School offers a rich and nurturing environment for children aged 6-12 years.

Our primary school program is divided into Lower Primary (ages 6-9) and Upper Primary (ages 9-12), each designed to cater to the developmental stages and learning needs of our students.

Through a blend of self-directed inquiry, authentic engagement, and dynamic learning groupings, we ensure a comprehensive and engaging educational experience. Continuous observation and personalized feedback form the cornerstone of our approach, fostering growth and excellence in every child

Lower Primary (Ages 6-9)

Our Lower Primary section focuses on building a strong foundation in literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking. We encourage self-directed inquiry and learning, allowing students to explore their interests and develop a love for discovery.

Authentic engagement through hands-on activities and projects helps transfer learning to real-world contexts. Students work in dynamic learning groupings to enhance collaboration and social skills, while ongoing observation by our dedicated teachers ensures that each child receives the support they need to thrive.

Upper Primary (Ages 9-12)

In the Upper Primary section, students delve deeper into complex concepts and hone their problem-solving abilities. We emphasize self-directed inquiry, empowering students to take charge of their learning journey.

Through authentic engagement, students apply their knowledge in meaningful ways, preparing them for future academic challenges. Dynamic learning groupings promote peer learning and diverse perspectives, enriching the classroom experience.

Our continuous observation practices ensure that each student’s progress is closely monitored, and individualized feedback is provided to support their growth.

Self-directed inquiry and learning

Students are encouraged to pursue their own questions and interests, fostering independence and a lifelong love of learning.

Transfer learning through authentic engagement:

We believe in facilitating authentic engagement using life experiences and activities that allow students to transfer their knowledge and skills across various contexts, preparing them for real-world applications.

Dynamic learning groupings:

Our dynamic learning groupings encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and communication skills among students. By working in diverse groups, students learn from one another's unique perspectives and strengths.

On-going observation

Continuous observation allows us to monitor and support each student's progress effectively. Through ongoing assessment and feedback, we tailor our teaching approach to meet the individual needs of every learner.
