ONGOING STAFF TRAINING AT BRIGHTHOUSE ACADEMY

BHA staff members

As part of our commitment to professional growth, Brighthouse Academy is currently hosting an intensive two-week staff training program featuring a team of certified Jolly Phonics instructors, alongside enriching early years sessions led by the academics’ Headteacher.

The program, which commenced on August 11, 2025, and runs until August 23, 2025, is centered on the Synthetic Systematic Phonics (SSP) approach. Through this method, teachers are learning how to introduce sounds in a structured sequence, guide pupils in blending them into words, and build strong foundations for reading and writing.

Additionally, the training reinforces teachers’ knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) learning areas and their connection to literacy. Educators are also being equipped with practical strategies such as multisensory learning techniques—engaging children through sight, sound, touch, and movement—alongside skills for creating interactive notebooks, dynamic classroom displays, and applying the thematic approach to teaching.

A major highlight of the training is an exploration of Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences. Teachers are being guided on how to recognize and support diverse intelligences—linguistic, logical-mathematical, musical, bodily-kinesthetic, spatial, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalistic—ensuring that every child’s unique learning style is valued and nurtured.

Through this ongoing investment in teachers’ development, Brighthouse Academy continues to strengthen its promise of providing pupils with modern, creative, and impactful learning experiences.
