Brighthouse Academy is proud to announce the appointment of Mrs. Joy Ekele, fondly known as “The Janded Teacher”, as the new Head Teacher of the Nursery Section. With over 19 years of experience in early childhood education, Mrs. Ekele is a dynamic leader and visionary educator dedicated to nurturing young learners and inspiring teachers.
Passionate about multisensory learning, she believes that every child learns best when their senses, imagination, and curiosity are actively engaged. Her classrooms are vibrant spaces where play meets purpose, and every activity becomes an opportunity for discovery, creativity, and growth.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Ekele has successfully integrated British, Nigerian, and American curricula, ensuring children receive a balanced, world-class foundation. She is also a recipient of several awards, including Best Teacher of the Year (2015 & 2024), Innovative Teaching Excellence Award (2024), and Outstanding Coordinator & Member of Staff (2021).
As an educator and mentor, she has supported schools in raising teaching standards, fostering positive school culture, and embracing inclusive practices. Her expertise spans early years leadership, curriculum development, teacher mentorship, and safeguarding, making her a highly respected voice in education both locally and internationally.
